Supporting our carers

We believe children who have to live away from their families deserve the best possible placements where they can

• come to terms with past difficulties
• develop their self esteem
• enjoy good health
• be encouraged at school and learn the skills they will need, to look after themselves when they are an adult.

We ensure that our carers:

• have their own qualified worker to support them.
• recieve a support visit at least every two weeks, or more if necessary.
• can receive paid respite
• can get support from sessional workers if it is needed.
• get the support of a therapist to help them understand the recovery needs of the children that they are looking after.
• receive a financial package that supports the child in placement and values them as a professional.
• have a genuine voice and feel a valued part of the agency
• have a personal training plan
• have access to independent advice
• have access to regular support groups
• have access to support from qualified staff 24/7
• have access to a wide range of text books, videos and other teaching materials.
